As the 2020 Campaign planning sessions begin, we want to take the time to introduce our volunteers who make a big impact!
This week we want to introduce Julie Waage, Vice President of Human Resources, RAS
1. Instagram or Facebook?
2. What have you enjoyed most about being on the Diversity Team?
I have enjoyed meeting all the wonderful volunteers who give of their time and talents and who care so deeply about our community. The Community Impact (CI) volunteers are such an important part of the process and without these dedicated volunteers, it would be hard to accomplish the great success the SEUW has experienced in meeting the needs of this community.
3. What is your biggest challenge as a Community Impact chair?
The CI chair is responsible to facilitate the agency review process with the volunteers so they can make recommendations on how funds should be allocated. And….sometimes that’s not an easy task. All agencies reviewed by CI volunteers provide valuable services to individuals in need within the Sioux Empire. CI volunteers would love to be able to fund agencies at the full requested amounts, but their job is to understand the program, assess the need, and recommend allocations based on available funds raised through the campaign.
4. How would you describe your SEUW experience in under 10 words?
Opened my eyes to the needs within the community.
5. What is something you wish you could do more often?
I love music and wish I had more time to sit down to the piano. I believe I am pretty rusty these days!
