Volunteer Scholarship Evaluator | Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation
Help open doors to higher education for South Dakota students.
Each year, the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation awards more than $500,000 in scholarships to students across South Dakota pursuing two-year, four-year, and graduate degrees. These scholarships are made possible by generous donors who believe in the power of education — and by dedicated volunteers who help review and evaluate applications.
As a volunteer scholarship evaluator, you’ll play a meaningful role in helping students take the next step toward their future.
What to Expect
Scholarship Evaluation Timeline
- March 15: Student applications close
- By March 20: Evaluation assignments are distributed
- Mid-April: All evaluations completed

Join Volunteer United at Lutheran Social Services After-School Program where we'll work alongside LSS to enjoy an afternoon of activities with over 35 students. Together we'll help children with learning enrichment worksheets, daily journaling practices, and a fun group game. If the weather is nice, we can spend time on the playground too!
LSS After-School programs provide a safe and supervised environment for elementary children after school hours. By combining academic enrichment with cultural and recreational activities that children enjoy, they're able to experience new things, improve their confidence, expand their creativity, and grow emotionally and socially!
Bingo Fun at DakotAbilities!
Join us for a lively game of bingo and share smiles with the amazing community at DakotAbilities. It’s all about fun, connection, and celebrating abilities—come play and make someone’s day brighter!
Join us at Delta Dental of South Dakota to assemble oral health kits! We'll put together bags for children in the Sioux Falls School District and assemble New Smile bags for new parents at local hospitals. Bags include toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, informational pamphlets, and more!
Join us at St. Francis House make homemade treats for St. Francis House Guests. The treats could include: Cereal Treats, Cheesecake Balls, Snack Mix, Cookies, etc...
