Reports to: Marketing Director
Primary Objectives: The Marketing and Campaign Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of effective marketing strategies to promote fundraising campaigns, community impact awareness, and brand awareness. Additionally, this person supports the campaign team efforts by assisting with donor stewardship, volunteer training preparation, and administrative tasks as needed, to help maximize impact and support the overall impact of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Support the conception and development of blogs/stories, press releases, emails, newsletters, media (photo, video, graphics), and collateral to be published both online and in print.
- Social Media: Supports strategy development, planning, and messaging for United Way’s presence on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Website: Assist in development and execution of website strategy, content, and support of online giving campaigns.
- Database & Data Entry: Support staff in requests for reporting needs, compiling targeted lists for marketing, and campaign initiatives.
- Co-Marketing: Support co-marketing efforts through the development and coordination of marketing materials and communications.
- Campaign & Fundraising: Assist with campaign volunteer training preparation, coordination and promotion, including working with volunteers and schools to facilitate the annual Coins for Kids fundraising partnership.
- Donor Stewardship: Support campaign and leadership team in communication strategies to acknowledge, engage, and strengthen relationships with current and prospective donors, including support of Sioux Empire United Way Heart Club donor recognition.
- Event Planning: Assist in planning and preparations for all major events, including designing materials, helping prepare media information, and contacting vendors.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks and provide support to other divisions, as needed, to ensure the smooth operations of marketing, campaign, and organizational initiatives.
Job Requirement and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or equivalent education and experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work, complete it accurately within established time frames.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with volunteers, committees, and staff.
- Proficient in operating computers (Windows and Microsoft Office Suite) and other office equipment with exceptional accuracy. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, Constant Contact, and other publishing tools is highly preferred.

Work Conditions/Equipment:
The majority of the work will be indoors, using basic office and computer equipment regularly. The majority of the work will take place at the Sioux Empire United Way office, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm.
