Sioux Empire United Way (SEUW) is excited to announce Lisa Romkema as the organization’s new CEO, effective July 29. Lisa brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership and a strong commitment to community service, making her an excellent choice to lead SEUW into its next chapter.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lisa Romkema as the next CEO. Her extensive fundraising experience, strong connections to the nonprofit and business communities, and strategic mindset make her an excellent fit” said Kate Kotzea, SEUW Board Chair.
Lisa is well-acquainted with SEUW, having previously served as Campaign Director from 2010 to 2015. With nearly fourteen years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership, Lisa brings extensive expertise to her new role. Lisa's successful track record includes annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, major giving, and planned giving for a variety of mission-driven organizations throughout the Sioux Empire. Most recently Lisa served as a consultant for Maximizing Excellence, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in enhancing organizational performance by providing strategic guidance to improve operational efficiency and optimizing resources.
In her new role, Lisa will work closely with the board, staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure that SEUW continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, vulnerable adults, and people in crisis.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to return to Sioux Empire United Way and look forward to working with our dedicated team and community partners to inspire lasting positive change throughout the Sioux Empire,” said Lisa. “Together, we will continue to provide opportunities to engage in philanthropy at all levels, support and empower those in need, and foster a stronger, more resilient community."
