Music class, puzzles, board games, physical activity, and a game of catch are just a few of the activities you spot during a day at Day Break. Day Break, provided by Active Generations, provides social and health services for adults who need supervised care in a safe place outside the home during the day. Last year, 146 individuals benefited from the program, with 93% delaying the need for a long-term care solution. One adult child caregiver noted of their experience:
The Day Break program at Active Generations has been a lifesaver for my family. My dad loves the staff and all his buddies that he plays cards with. The Day Break team has become our family. Anyone who is struggling with how to help family members who need a little extra care, but are not ready for assisted living or a nursing home facility, needs to check this program out. My dad has been able to stay home the last two years because of the Day Break team. This program has also provided a much needed respite for my mom who has experienced caregiver burnout. To see my parents thrive and to have this team during this journey in our lives is beyond anything I could describe. They are beyond amazing! They are angels! - Teresa
