For the past ten years, Randy Knecht has volunteered in multiple roles for Sioux Empire United Way. However, this year, he stepped into a role he has never held, serving as Board of Directors Chair. “I served on the campaign team, finance committee and executive committee over the past several years,” he adds. “But I’m very humbled to be serving as current Chair of the Board.”
Throughout this time, Randy says he has learned so much about the impact that Sioux Empire United Way has on our community. “No other organization has such a broad and positive impact on the lives in our community,” says Randy. Currently, Sioux Empire United Way is helping over 80 programs through over 40 different non-profit agencies in our community. “But the best part has been the people I have met and the passion they share for Sioux Empire United Way and the community.”
Even though his schedule is filled with many commitments, Randy manages to find time to help Sioux Empire United Way with our community initiatives. “I want to encourage our young leaders to get involved,” adds Randy. “I have found that I get way more in return when stepping up and getting involved. It’s so rewarding,” Randy says. Aside from the relationships that are built, it’s also about making the community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. “Plus, it’s our responsibility and obligation to pay it forward and honor those who have stepped up and led before us to help make our community what it is today.” Thank you, Randy, for your leadership and volunteerism to Sioux Empire United Way.
